Elmira was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan. At the age of 10 she and her family moved to Toronto, Canada. Her curiosity in art was evident from her teenage years when she started tutoring with a Russian/Ukrainian artist every Saturday. She recalls one of her favorite pastimes was the self guided life drawing sessions that she attended weekly in downtown Toronto. It is in those sessions where she grew her love for drawing and studying the human body and its expression. Downtown Toronto was also a big influence on her with the street art being always present.

When it came time for University she went to Sheridan Institute for their Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree. After finishing the program she worked in several animation studios. During this time she developed a strong interest and passion for fine arts and decided to pursue it as a career. She finished the one year Art Mastery Program at Milan Art Institute that focused on development of her artistic voice. After graduation Elmira launched her career as a professional artist. Now she lives and paints in Ottawa, Ontario.
